Core Engine Release 5.11

June 2026

We upgraded! What's new? Learn more about new features, technical changes and solved bugs in 4App Core Engine.

Note on upgrading: If you skip a version when upgrading, check all release and patch notes in between for important information. They apply cumulative.
Note on individualization: If your 4ALLPORTAL is highly customized or if you installed individual apps, please contact your implementation partner before upgrading. We recommend checking your custom contents, especially layouts and object renderers, carefully after an upgrade.

New Features

Dashboards for System Analytics

The new Dashboard module allows users to create and manage dashboards for monitoring system-related information. Once enabled by an administrator, users can access the module from the "General" space in the mega menu, create multiple dashboards, mark them as favourites, and share them with users or roles. Available widget types include "Chart", "Shortcut", "Single number", and "4APQL Table"; the 4APQL Table widget is intended for users familiar with 4APQL queries. Each widget includes two preset configurations for a quick start.
Please note: The Dashboard module must be activated by an administrator before it becomes visible.

Dimension Support for Object Compare

The transfer behavior when comparing two objects has been extended to include dimensioned values. The left and right arrows next to the fields or metadata groups now only copy the visible value without applying dimension logic.
Dimension-related transfers are available through the "More" menu between the two objects and include copying values without activating dimensions, copying with dimension activation/deactivation, and transferring all dimension values.

Support Connector

Administrators can now use the new Support Connector admin snap-in to enable access for the 4ALLPORTAL support team when assistance is needed. The connector is disabled by default and requires explicit activation before any access is possible. Support team members log in with individual corporate accounts, supporting secure and traceable authentication.
Please note: No support access is available unless the Support Connector has been enabled.

Technical Changes

New Search Comparators "LIKE_ALL" and "NOT_LIKE_ALL"

We have added the two new search comparators "LIKE_ALL" and "NOT_LIKE_ALL". Their function is similarly to the "LIKE" and "NOT_LIKE" comparators, but for "LIKE_ALL" and "NOT_LIKE_ALL", the values are linked using "AND".

Structured Logging for Server Logs

We have changed the default logging profile to emit structured logs via ProductionLogFormatter, suitable for log aggregation pipelines. The logging switches by Spring profile (SPRING_PROFILES_ACTIVE or --spring.profiles.active). The former logging with human-readable pattern can be reactivated via profile dev (only for local development purposes).
Please note: No configuration change is required; the active Spring profile selects the encoder automatically.
