Core Engine Release 6.0
July 2026
We upgraded! What's new? Learn more about new features, technical changes and solved bugs in 4App Core Engine.
Note on upgrading: If you skip a version when upgrading, check all release and patch notes in between for important information. They apply cumulative.
Note on individualization: If your 4ALLPORTAL is highly customized or if you installed individual apps, please contact your implementation partner before upgrading. We recommend checking your custom contents, especially layouts and object renderers, carefully after an upgrade.
Breaking Changes
New Spring Version
Major version 6.0.0 is based on a newer version of Spring, which closes potential security gaps.
What to do: Before upgrading to Core 6.0, you must first update to the latest Core version 5.12.
What to do: After upgrading the Core to 6.0, all other installed 4Apps must be updated to their new major version, too. Please read the release notes, for some 4Apps require an upgrade to the latest minor version first.
SAML Login
As part of the Spring upgrade, the SAML login integration was updated.
What to do: If you use SAML/ADFS single sign-on together with custom apps that adjust user data during login, those custom apps must be updated to their new major version.
Standard SAML logins require no action beyond the regular upgrade steps.
Solved Bugs
- Fix the logic of the welcome page so that only the "Other" option requires a free-text field entry
- Fix the issue where write permission for dimension combinations could be granted without having read permission
- Fix expandable subpanels, so they remain in their last state after leaving and returning to them (even if their default is collapsed)
- Fix the not working wildcards for the LIKE_ALL comparator
- Fix search renderer for dimensioned fields, so that dimension icons and options are no longer attempted to be displayed
- Fix the mass change so that the preview images in the sidebar remain visible when leaving and returning to the view via the browser's back button
- Fix the module search in the Translation Studio to more clearly indicate that it only supports searching one module
