Core Engine Release 6.3
August 2026
We upgraded! What's new? Learn more about new features, technical changes, and solved bugs in 4App Core Engine.
Note on upgrading: If you skip a version when upgrading, check all release and patch notes in between for important information. They apply cumulative.
Note on individualization: If your 4ALLPORTAL is highly customized or if you installed individual apps, please contact your implementation partner before upgrading. We recommend checking your custom contents, especially layouts and object renderers, carefully after an upgrade.
New Features
Right-Click Menu for Object Actions
Users can now right-click on individual or multiple selected records to open a context menu containing familiar actions from the toolbox, such as Edit, Download or Delete.
This menu is accessible across all relevant lists and views, including subpanels, table views, and comparable list displays. This makes common maintenance tasks quicker and reduces the number of clicks required, especially in large lists.
Improvements
Automatic Fallback for Unavailable Tabs
If the object-type-specific tab that was previously opened is unavailable for the next object, the system now falls back to the layout’s default view. This improves navigation between objects with different layouts and prevents related errors. The object-type-specific tab automatically reopens as soon as a matching object is opened.
Additional Tooltips
We have added tooltips to more UI controls to improve the usability and accessibility.
Technical Changes & Admin Instructions
Dedicated "4ALLPORTAL Support" Role
A dedicated role named 4ALLPORTAL Support is now created automatically on startup with admin-equivalent permissions. Support connector logins use this role instead of the admin role. The role is system-managed, hidden from role search and configuration, and protected from manual changes, deletion, and license type selection.
Existing support users are migrated automatically. They can only be managed by the support login; administrators cannot edit, delete, or disable them. On every support login, the account is re-activated.
What to do: Rename any manually created role named 4ALLPORTAL Support before upgrading. Otherwise, the dedicated role cannot be created, an error is logged, and support connector logins may resolve to the unrelated role.
Password Actions Restricted to Standard Users
The Reset Password and Send Welcome Mail actions are now available only for standard (default) users. They are no longer offered for installation_admin users, as these are provisioned through the environment in Docker installations.
The previous behavior only applied to the discontinued native Linux installations of 3.10.
Additional ImageMagick Conversion Options
We have made some technical adjustments to enable new conversion methods in the download profiles.
