DAM Release 6.3

August 2026

We upgraded! What's new? Learn more about new features, technical changes and solved bugs in 4App DAM.

Note on upgrading: If you skip a version when upgrading, check all release and patch notes in between for important information. They apply cumulative.
Note on individualization: If your 4ALLPORTAL is highly customized or if you installed individual apps, please contact your implementation partner before upgrading. We recommend checking your custom contents, especially layouts and object renderers, carefully after an upgrade.

New Features

Custom ImageMagick Options in Conversion Profiles

We now support additional ImageMagick conversion methods that can be defined manually and used in our conversion profiles. This enables flexible implementation of customer-specific image processing tasks, such as 'hald-clut', color looks or CI-compliant color filters.
What to do: In the 'Download profiles' admin snap-in, go to the 'Convert directives' field and select the new 'ImageMagick Options' key (magick_options). The value is like a JSON with the fields prefix, args and postfix, e.g.:

json
"prefix":["prefix-args"],"args":["modules/filetransfer/sepia/sepia-color.png","-hald-clut"],"postfix":["after-all-args"]

Invalid definitions are ignored. Existing profiles remain compatible.

Solved Bugs

  • Fix preview and playback of HEVC / H.265 video files (.hevc, .h265, .264, .265)

Patch releases

Version 6.3.1

  • Fix the shift of markups on the image
  • Fix the status indicator on the ReviewItem tile

Version 6.3.2

  • Fix missing group labels for operations (e.g., in the context menu)

Version 6.3.3

Improvements

The changes to the Approval module introduced with versions 6.2/6.2.2 have been reverted to the behavior of version 6.1. The functionality introduced in 6.2 did not yet work as intended in all scenarios. Reverting these changes allows us to further refine the implementation before making it available again.
Please note: This patch restores the Approval module behavior from version 6.1.
