# DAM Release 4.40

August 2025

We upgraded! What's new? Learn more about new features, technical changes and solved bugs in 4App DAM.

Note on upgrading: If you skip a version when upgrading, check all release and patch notes in between for important information. They apply cumulative.

Note on individualization: If your 4ALLPORTAL is highly customized or if you installed individual apps, please contact your implementation partner before upgrading. We recommend checking your custom contents, especially layouts and object renderers, carefully after an upgrade.

# New Features and Improvements

# Version Download

Users can now download an archived version from the "Files" module, if both versioning and version download are enabled.

If one or more archived versions are selected, the new "Download version" toolbox action is displayed. Clicking on it opens the download profile pop-up in the Files module. The archived image is downloaded with its version title.

The name of the downloaded file is made up of the original file name and the version title, joined together with a hyphen. Finally, all whitespace and POSIX characters are removed.

What to do: Admins need to enable the version download in the Files module's feature permissions pop-up (default: disabled).

Please note: If versioning is enabled for modules other than the Files module, the version download will use that module's download profiles.

Please note: Digital rights are also supported, except for the "Locked (Approval)" permission type, which will be replaced by the "Locked" operation.

Please note: The SQL conditions contained in the download profiles and digital rights are not supported and will be replaced with 'always false' and 'always true' conditions at runtime.
