# Welcome to the InDesign Plugin Documentation
The 4ALLPORTAL InDesign Plugin is an extension for Adobe's InDesign. It integrates the 4ALLPORTAL DAM into InDesign and provides user with the following functions:
- direct accessibility of DAM assets in InDesign
- generation of previews and overviews of linked files for InDesign documents (
.inddand exchange format.idml) - repair of broken links between an InDesign document and files from the 4ALLPORTAL (e.g., images)
- generation of an InDesign document's metadata for the full-text search
- redirection of file paths for InDesign links to another file path
If users can use Single Sign-On (Microsoft Active Directory), they are immediately logged in to the 4ALLPORTAL.
After the installation of the 4App, the plugin is available in the "Downloads" section of a user's Personal Settings.
If required, each user can now install and connect the extension on their system.

# Supported Core Engine and DAM Version
The 4App InDesign Plugin is supported starting from Core and DAM version 4.0. For lower Core and DAM versions, the InDesign plugin functionalities are part of 4App DAM.
