# InDesign Plugin Installation
To use the InDesign plugin, two installation steps are required:
- general installation of the 4App Indesign Plugin to the 4ALLPORTAL (admin)
- individual download and installation on each user's computer (user themselves)
# 1. General Installation of the 4App (Admin)
The InDesign Plugin is available as a separate 4App (4allportal-indesign-plugin) for Core/DAM version 4.0 or higher. It can be downloaded and installed via the app management in the administration area. After installation, activate the 4App and restart the system.
After installation, the InDesign Plugin can be downloaded for either macOS or Windows by every user in their user profile's "Downloads" area.
Please note that if your 4ALLPORTAL works with Core and DAM version 3.x, the InDesign plugin functionalities are part of 4App DAM and no extra 4App installation is required.
# Compatibility with Adobe InDesign Versions
Core and DAM from version 4.0 require a minimum InDesign version 16.4 or higher.
# 2. Individual Installation of the Plugin (User)
If a user wants to use the InDesign plugin on their computer, they need to download the plugin from the "Downloads" section in their user profile. After downloading, they can install and connect it with InDesign.
Your users need to follow the steps described in the user manual here (opens new window).
# Requirements
To install the plugin, make sure your users have the following:
- an installation tool for ZXP package files (e.g., Anastasiy's Extension Manager (opens new window))
- administration rights for their PC or Mac
- a file system connection to the 4ALLPORTAL mount
