The 4App Thesaurus allows system administrators to create and manage dictionaries in the admin area.

An active thesaurus optimizes search operations and leads to results more quickly: It considers synonyms, misspellings and related child elements when a search is performed on its assigned fields. Thus, a thesaurus enables a user to find all bikes when searching for "bike", including objects tagged "pedelec", "e-bike" or "mountain bike".

Without a thesaurus, a user must always know a name or keyword, because a search term must be exact to find the right result (a search for "bike" will find no e-bike).

Admins can create multiple synonym trees for different needs. They can as well import or export thesauri contents.

After installation, new Thesaurus admin snap-in for configuration is available:
