# Installation of Authentication Provider LDAP

4App Move

The features of 4App Authentication Provider LDAP are part of 4App Core Engine from Core version 4.4.
If you work with Core Engine version 4.4 or higher, you do not require to install this 4App.

# Requirements

To use the 4App Authentication Provider LDAP, make sure you have

  • for Authentication Provider LDAP 5.0: 4App Core Engine (opens new window), version 4.0 until 4.3.x
  • access to the directory service server (LDAP URL and port) from your 4ALLPORTAL server

# Installation of the 4App

The Authentication Provider LDAP is available as a separate 4App (4allportal-authentication-provider-ldap) and can be downloaded and installed via the app management in the administration area.

After installation, activate the 4App and restart the system.

You now find the new admin snap-in Authentication/LDAP provider to configure in the administration area of your 4ALLPORTAL.

For general authentication information and further configuration options, refer Core Engine's basic authentication provider documentation (opens new window)

# App Extensions

We offer two extensions for the Authentication Provider LDAP:

# SSO for Windows Active Directory

Use our web application from 4App Authentication Service SSO (opens new window) to enable Single Sign-on (SSO) for Windows Active Directory (AD) users. Users logged in to the Windows domain will be logged in to the 4ALLPORTAL automatically.

# User Synchronization

Use 4App LDAP Sync User (opens new window) to transfer all or selected users from your LDAP directory service to the 4ALLPORTAL and create them as new users.
