# Core Engine Release 4.9

May 2024

We upgraded! What's new? Learn more about new features, technical changes and solved bugs in 4App Core Engine.

Note on upgrading: If you skip a version when upgrading, check all release and patch notes in between for important information. They apply cumulative.
Note on individualization: If your 4ALLPORTAL is highly customized or if you installed individual apps, please contact your implementation partner before upgrading. We recommend checking your custom contents, especially layouts and object renderers, carefully after an upgrade.

# New Features and Improvements

# Accessibility: High Contrast Theme

The 4ALLPORTAL now offers a high contrast theme that users can select in their personal settings. When selected, the presentation of active user interface elements changes to a higher contrast to better support users with visual impairments.
If users select the "Automatic" theme in their personal settings, the preference set in their system settings is used in the 4ALLPORTAL.

# Accessibility: Support for Windows High Contrast

The 4ALLPORTAL is now optimized to support the Windows "High contrast" setting. If users have this Windows setting enabled while working with the 4ALLPORTAL, all elements are clearly visible.

# Additional Improvements

  • Mega menu order: Users can now change the order of spaces (e.g. "DAM") in the Mega menu in their personal settings. Admin can also do this for a role in admin snap-in "General system configurations/User settings/Role configuration", tab "Advanced".
  • Comparison view: We have moved the display of an object's preview from the metadata to the top of the view.
  • Detail view: The navigation buttons "Previous" and "Next" in an object's detail view can now be activated with the Enter key.

# Technical Changes & Admin Instructions

# New Default View: module_explorer

We now provide the new default view module_explorer, which allows users to click through the objects of a (pid) module via a tree structure in the sidebar. A double click on an object opens its detail view, while the sidebar with the explorer tree remains.
Please note: The module_explorer is not displayed in a default module, but can be implemented, if needed. It has the following requirements and specifications:

  • it works only for pid modules (default modules: file and folder)
  • the detail view to be load (including its toolbox actions) after a double click can be configured
  • a double click changes the URL (DeepLink support)

# Solved Bugs

  • Fix not working drag and drop of list elements if they are part of an outer list which has been dragged and dropped
  • Fix focus that was not set when tabbing in an opened drop-down menu (Chrome)
  • Fix the endless width-growing of subpanels
  • Fix the deviation between the number of total search results and the number of actually delivered objects that occurred when the sort field is from another module and is linked by a relation.
  • Fix using always white as the default color in the HTML text renderer. The color now depends on the selected theme.
  • Fix the storable recovery of null values in Metric renderers. The recovery option was replaced by the restore option.
  • Fix not being able to edit the module menu structure as JSON
  • Fix the not working retrieval of audit records
  • Fix viewing and saving changes after moving a group
