Uploading versions in Files module

The “Versioning” feature provides module-independent version management for items such as files, product data, and contact details. This product improvement extends the function scope explicitly to include the Files module in 4App “DAM - Digital Asset Management”.

With the versioning in the Files module, you can now upload a file as a new version. The new file may have completely different content, but must be of the same file type. Before uploading the new file, you can choose to adopt the new file’s name, if different from the existing one, and add metadata tags for the new version, if you don’t want to keep the current metadata.

The action for “Upload version” can be accessed via the main view and the detail view in the Files module.

Other changes

Hiding color and star markings with comments in collections

Since version 3.2, users have been able to select and view color and star markings and comments via a global rating set in the Files module . Up to version 2.15, we supported the option of asset collection specific marking, which we removed from the product due to relevant customer feedback. Since then, the file tiles in the Collections module have shown the global and role-independent ratings and comments.

If you would prefer to hide the global rating set in collections, please contact your responsible project manager.

Patch 3.6.8
