Note on upgrading: If you skip a version when upgrading, check all release and patch notes in between for important information. They apply cumulative.
Note on individualization: If your 4ALLPORTAL is highly customized or if you installed individual apps, please contact your implementation partner before upgrading. We recommend checking your custom contents, especially layouts and object renderers, carefully after an upgrade.
# New Features and Improvements
# Admin Snap-in for Download Profiles
New snap-in DAM/Download profiles allows admins to create, edit and delete download profiles in the GUI. Options include converting source files, adding watermarks and defining conditions.
It is no longer necessary to work in XML. Existing (custom) profiles are automatically detected and listed.

# New User Preset to Sort Download Profiles
In the user profile (Profile/System Settings/File Transfer), users can now sort the available download profiles to suit their personal needs. The sorting affects the display of the download profile pop-ups. To change the default sorting, relevant profiles can be moved from the left to the right list. They will now appear first in the download profile pop-ups. If required, users can also sort the profiles in the right-hand list.
# Download Entire Collections
The option to download an entire collection with a single click is now part of the DAM. In both the main and detail view of a collection, you will now find action "Download collection" to download the entire content. Suitable download profiles can be selected in the next step.
Please note: The separate 4App "Collection Downloader" is no longer required for this action.
What to do: If you have been using 4App "Collection Downloader", you will need to uninstall it before upgrading to DAM 4.3.
# Foldable Image Scroll Bar
The image scroll bar with thumbnails at the bottom of an object's main view is now foldable and can be minimized when not needed. It is automatically minimized at a certain zoom level.
# Further Improvements
- Image metadata: We have added the automatically generated value option
exif_tags, which includes all writable EXIF and XMP tags.
# Technical Changes & Admin Instructions
- Request jobs: We have added support for the new priority of request jobs (for details, see the Core Engine release notes here (opens new window))
- Upload items cleanup: We have extended the time after which upload items are cleaned up from one hour to 30 days.
- API: We have added new endpoint
POST /api/extensions/dam/mounts/{mount}/events/{eventType}to notify the file system importer about some changes in file system. This allows changes (e.g. via WebDAV) to be passed on to the frontend more quickly.
# Solved Bugs
- Fix not working drag and drop option from module File to module Review
- Fix local created user sessions that stayed open after a request job execution. They are now closed.
- Fix the not working scrolling in the create view of module Collections
- Fix the storage of temporary files and zip files that are created when downloading multiple files. They are now always deleted from the temporary folder.
- Fix unwanted restoring of deleted folders and files in the file system during the import process.
- Fix possible NullPointerException with configured digital rights
